The main theme of my floral work is to express hope for a positive outlook and to inspire more people to face and overcome challenges like plants and flowers that spread out over time. My idea is to paint symbolic flowers and colors that relate to the backdrop articles. I painted a white Dandelions with yellow and green colors mostly for news articles about the Roman Catholic Pope Francis, because I admire his humane tenacity. The dandelion and puffs as a symbol of ordinary people and civil rights movement. The yellow signifies new hope, and the green color signifies nature, luck, renewal, and youth. I hope other leaders are inspired by the Pope's words and actions and that more people will speak up for the truth. Therefore, the truth can come to light eventually.
Miracle on the Hudson, 20"x 26"
US Airways Flight 1549 made an emergency water landing in the Hudson River. The incident made heros of the cockpit crew, captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger III and First Officer Jeff Skiles. They brought the Airbus A319 to a safe landing on the Hudson River after the jet lost both engines from goose strikes just after taking off from LaGuardia on Jan. 15, 2009. All 155 occupants safely evacuated the airliner, which was still virtually intact though partially submerged and slowly sinking. They were quickly rescued by nearby ferries and other watercraft. The incident became known as the Miracle on the Hudson.

Humanitarians, 15.5" x 19.5"
I painted white daisies symbolically represent of childhood, innocence, and purity on top of several newspaper articles that moved me. These kinds of stories do not happen often, so I want to preserve them to heal wounded hearts during disturbances and crises. In the West, the daisy is a symbol of simplicity, chastity and transformation.

Reflections 2009:
I painted ivy leaves on newspaper cartoons representing the Great Depression. I think numerous economic problems are caused by financial institutions in America and managed by top bankers who have graduated from Ivy League schools. I still wonder why they are the ones who have been selected to run the American economy.
